Having been introduced to the nightmare series at an early age, it's only natural I'd be visited by Freddy at one point or another in a dream. It's been so long, that I don't even remember any of 'em for the most part, but after the original nightmare, sleeping wasn't my favorite thing. One thing I do remember is my mother telling me one night before bed, "see ya in the morning." and I replied "If I wake up." LOL. There was a reason I was spooked that night though. When I was younger, I could sleep with my eyes open. The night before I was doing just that and actually saw Freddy walking up to me. I know it was just hallucination... natural when you sleep with your eyes open, but at the time it scared the hell outta me.

I think somewhere after the third one I actually had a dream where I was friends with Freddy. That's about the time Krueger really became a pop icon, so the scary factor kinda decreased. Eventually I got sick of him in my dreams and killed him off... that ended that.

Being such a young fan of the series got me into a little trouble too. Being the creative little miscreant that I was, one Halloween I actually constructed my own real claw. Had an old glove, got the knives and put it together. Stupid me wanting to show off, I brought it to school with me. I was generally a show off, so I couldn't resist. I didn't do anything more with it than slash up a bush and scare one person. Then that one person went and told the principal and the glove was taken, mother came in and I was in deep sh....ugar. Looking back now, I was lucky not to be expelled or worse... these days a kid doing that would be pinned as a psycho. Not me... just showing off and being a fan. Wish I still had it though... it was a pretty well done little creation for one so young... lol.

My mother outlawed me from seeing Nightmare movies at that point. Of course I managed to see 'em anyway. Years and years later, I'm still watching... ever the fan. No more nightmares, just great memories... and crazy ones like the above mentioned glove scenario... lol.
