My Budgie Talked Like It Was Human-no kidding

Hi everyone. I am Ryan and I was the guardian of Victor the budgie who had a vocabulary of over 800 words. Amazing as this was, he not only knew how to pronounce these words but used them to talk in context. I believe he was the most intelligent talking bird in the world while he was alive. I am working on getting scientific recognition for his audio and video recordings, which basically prove parrots are capable of higher intelligence, talking in context and even having a sense of humor. Therefore, I am inviting you to come to Victor's site and hear some of his audio files. Anything you could do to pass the word around would also be greatly appreciated as I think you will find his recordings truly remarkable. My cockateel sings the Addams Family intro...even the snapping of the fingers, he does that by hitting his beak against anything that makes noise....He also loves certain songs by the Dead kennedy's. And he can say a few words. Not a lot, but his name and his partners name.. <

Thanks for the welcome. My Cockatoo loves my husband and does not care for me. Sometimes she is nice to me but has bitten me on several occassions. I am some what afraid of her now, I don't know what to do about her biting. I feed her and care for her. He pays less attention to her than I do, what is the problem ya think IJzebel? That is the problem with most cockatoes, and most parrots in general. They either get way attached to a male or a female, there's no other way about it. The ONLY thing that will REALLY help, is find a mate for him/her. That is ALL you can do. I had the smae problem with Sebastiaan, my cockateel, I got him a partner, and they are both great! You have to watch out with htese things, a cockateel is a bird that needs to live with large amounts of other birds, they can be kept alone, but there are a lot of them that become very unhappy, or they will see one of the owners as their mate. That is why the bird doesn't like you. <

>Another thing you could try is to make sure your husband doesn't give the bird attention AT ALL. And I mean NONE whatsoever, no hello, no feeding, NOTHING. But you may come to a next problem then, the bird might start seeing you as it's partner. Really, the best sollution is get a partner. I know that isn't realistic in a lot of cases. But tht is what helps the best. Try to do it all alone htough! AND try feeding it, first from a long stick, put food on it LOVES, then shorten the stick every time you feed it...and you'll see that it soon will eat from your head without going for your hand. It will eat the food.<
