GAMING GRIPES AND GLITCHES...

[Lagoon Bug]

On my Dell desktop XPS, Guild Wars has frozen on me every now and then. Not often, very rare infact. But it's happened and I had no choice but to unplug the AC, replug, reboot, and log back in and fortunately be able to reconnect to the party I was in.

That seemed to have happened on my laptop. However, it seemed to have recovered and a few seconds later I continued playing with no problem. It froze for about a second and a half, then the screen went blank for about half a second, then the game just continued like nothing happened. I did get some task bar notice saying that some problem occurred but it was able to recover or something. Something about a video driver. I did update the Nvidia driver after that. Pretty fancy improvement on this laptop, if what happened is the same thing that happened on my desktop Dell.

Certain PS3 games needing to install... drives me nuts to have to sit around waiting for the damn thing to load in... much prefer that of the 360 and Wii to just put it in, turn it on and play!

Yeah, I know the reasoning, but for example... look at DMC4 on 360... load times on that I thought to be fast enough! So if it can be done on 360, why not PS3 if it's such a major piece of hardware? And if they MUST have that install thing, at least make it optional and let people play it straight without installing... for those that don't mind a little load time in game as long as we can play it immediately right out da box!

Indeed. If players had the option of either allowing the
downloading process to commence or playing the
game normally would help considerably. A fr-

I've been running into a lot of freezing with Fallout 3. Sometimes it's in V.A.T.S., or going through doors. I've also froze on the loading screen. I'm also having issues with lag while running in certain spots in the Wasteland. I lost count of how many times I've had to turn off the console.

issues with Fallout 3, Masa! I've had similar probl-
ems with Oblivion at times to the point wher-
e I've gotten tired of playing it. I did soo-
n discover that cleaning the cache of
my system helped a bit. How ma-

More freezing with Fallout 3. This time with The Pitt. I go to kill a Wildman (actually a Wildwoman) on the high catwalks in the Steelyard when the freezing happens. Also, it happens when I try to repair my Merc Troublemaker Outfit with the Merc Charmer Outfit.

Very frustrating. I've only begun to experience this in the last couple of days.

Editing to say, it also happens a few minutes after I bring up my Pipboy and try to do ANYTHING with it.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having more problems with Fallout 3,
Masa! It's been reported that people have been experiencing
such issues with the DLC and that another patch was rel-
eased, so I'd advise you to try the update. Also, you
may want to consider multiple saves just in cas-
e. And just when I was getting ready to star-
t Fallout 3 (sigh). Maybe I'll make more p-
rogress in Fable 2 before jumping to t-
he previous F related game mentio-
ned. But getting back on topic, p-
lease try searching for anothe-
r update, Masa. If none is a-
vailable at all, use anoth-
er save to see if the p-
roblem still exists. I-

cleaning you-
r system's
cache!!



Hold RB+LB+X immediately when you boot up the game. Don't release until the Bethesda logo disappears (or whenever it is that you can press start to go to the game menu).

Do you have an external fan attached to the elite? I wouldn't have imagined the system would die out with proper safeguards put in.
