Hmmm... going through that list, I see great Meh-itude... But, a few that I've noted;

From the Specials:
Negima! Mouhitotsu no Sekai (which has already been aired apparently o.O)

Definites:
A Certain Scientific Railgun
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza
Fairy Tail

Somewhat interested (for as interested as one can get from the series synopsis provided):
Nyan Koi (Sounds interesting. 50/50 chance of being good and complete crap though)
Seitokai no Ichizon (Art looks good. Story sounds like a typical harem series though...)
The Sacred Blacksmith
ShinKoihime Musou (The art looks a little ecchi, but the storyline sounds a lot like Lina would fit right in :p)

Here's what I got out of that:

Definitely Watch
Fairy Tail (duy)
Railgun (more duy)
Darker Than Black: Ryuusei no Gemini (I thought the first series was good)

Give At Least a Shot
Nyan Koi! (what Tanis said; might be funny, or might be total crap)
Kiddy Girl-and (the original series was amusing enough)
Book of Bantorra (looks well animated, could be cool)

Maybe Pick Up Later if They Don't Suck
Sacred Blacksmith (have to see first if the story and characters aren't generic)
Three Kingdoms (depends upon how much action it has and how the production values look)
Blue Literature (not sure what to make of this one, but at least the base material is well-established as being good)
Kobato (it's Clamp, so it might be decent)

I'm also watching the second season of Queen's Blade for the lulz. Dunno why I still find it so stupidly amusing. :looney:

Armed Librarians definitely has the coolest title but I'm not so sure about the premise. I wonder if their rendition of The Three Musketeers will be any good.

Really just not much there this season....

I heard Queen's blade went from ecchi right up to softcore this season. -_-

I dunno, outside of one specific thing involving magical tentacles (which honestly wasn't much worse than the giant octopus pool scene in Girls Bravo Season 2 ) I didn't see anything in the first ep that was any worse than what they did last season. Not sure where you heard that from. :\

Some random forum that I came across while poking around. I didn't really look into that series; it's just something that I noticed in passing.

Oh, OK. I knew you wouldn't have seen it in person, since you didn't bother with the first season, either.

So anyway, can we skip to the middle of the month now so Fairy Tail can start? :o This season appears to feature a large amount of meh, which really puts a premium on shows like FT, which will be decidedly not meh.

Agreed lol. I cross my fingers that one of the series will suddenly prove to be amazing, but most look so meh it's almost not worth the effort of hoping.

I guess this the karmic backlash from a couple seasons ago, when there was such an unusually high number of good new shows at one time. :duh:

Is that seriously in Episodes From Libery City? Wooooow. Rockstar was massively bored at some point, and probably stoned, too. :looney:

*dusts the cobwebs off the thread*

Ahem, anyways... Now for something completely different. The listings for the Winter 2010 anime season has been released and I can very safely say...

MEH!!!

So, let's see. Out of the entire season, and excluding any anime that may be continued, I can see a whole whopping ZERO series' that scream out at me as being 'must watch.'

In the category of 'check it out and see,' there's three;

So-Ra-No-Wo-To: As one reviewer described it, it's 'K-On joins the army!' I'm hesitant, but it in produced by the same company that did K-On, so it holds at least a small glimmer of hope.

Omamori Himari: Likely going to be crap. May check it out just to have something to watch...

Ladies Vs. Butlers: Likely going to be crap generic harem anime. May also be hilariously win.

There's also Hidamari Sketch which, after picking up the first three volumes of the manga out of complete randomness, has me interested enough that I may very well want to go back and download the first season so as to watch this second season.

I'm gonna have to reserve judgement on the winter season until we find out if there are more shows not listed in this preview or not. I suspect that there will be at least a few more, which leaves the possibility that one of them might be good. If this is seriously it, though, then a giant "MEH!!!" is an understatement. :meh:

All in all, probably the worst looking season I've seen yet. I certainly hope that it gets better than that.

You need a contingency plan in case this really does turn out to be the most mehtacular season evar. My plan consists of Dungeon Fighter Online, which has already been eating most of my free time for about the last month. Great game, plays very much like the classic side scrolling beat-em-ups like Streets of Rage, only in MMO form and with RPG elements like skill trees. I got a simple Logitech USB gamepad for like 9 bucks, too, which makes it about ten times easier to play. Good stuff.

I don't really feel like getting into an MMO right now. If the season turns out to be crap, I'll probably find some old stuff to watch. Or just go to a lot more local hockey games.
