I'm going to see Rammstein!

Post by Masamune »

Live at Madison Square Garden on December 11, 2010! It's their first show on US soil in ten years! I'm as giddy as a kid on Christmas. I had actually convinced myself that they'd retire before I'd ever get to see them live or I'd have to go to Germany.

I am in Section 205. Four of my friends and I managed to get five seats together, but two of our other friends have to sit on the other side in 335. They wanted the floor, but tickets for that went way too fast.

But hey, WE GOT THE TICKETS! WE ARE GOING TO SEE RAMMSTEIN!

I also expect to receive third degree burns due to their love of fire and pyro, but it will be worth it. Oh yes! It will be worth it. And besides, that's the making of a damn good show right there. :dgrin:

I know they are going to play most of the songs off the new album, but I really hope they play something from all albums as kind of a make-up for being gone so long. Some of my favorites that I hope they play are:

Laichzeit
Du Riechst So Gut
Engel
Mutter
Zerstoren
Mein Herz Brennt
Sonne
Hilf Mir
Morgenstern
Mein Teil
Los
Ohne Dich
Donaukinder

I think they are going to open with Rammlied like on their recent Euro tours, which is a pretty heavy and good song for a opening. Also, I hope they play NWS Buck Dich NWS and give the finger to the American Moral Police. Buck Dich is the song that got them in a whole lot of trouble in '97, which started the whole, "Yeah, we're not coming back. Sorry American fans." thing. :rant3:

But they are back and here's to hoping they keep coming back. :bouncy:

Hmm... nyeeeez... You are hereby ordered to bring a camcorder and try to outfit it with some sort of flame-resistant covering, so that it doesn't melt along with your face and ruin the video. :p

As hilarious and awesome as that would be, considering how the moral police in this country need a good flipping off every so often to keep them in line (and how much fun it is to watch their heads explode ), I wouldn't count on it. They probably don't feel like causing trouble again after that long of an absence.

Pretty sure, at least, the music industry being a business and all. Still, I can't completely discount it. As you said, they are Rammstein, after all. :p Though now that I think about it, how is anything they do so much worse than what, say, Ozzy has done up on stage?

Well, in all fairness, Ozzy doesn't sing about incest, sadomasochism, necrophilia, etc. Alice Cooper and GWAR would be better examples of that. =p

If I am not set on fire, I will be disappointed. I got shot in the face with a water cannon by Ozzy (after locking eyes with him for mere seconds.) I demand my *feuertaufe by the German Gods of Metal.

(I hope my German was correct there. I am really out of practice.)

OK, that wasn't really the best example. I'm not exactly familiar with death metal, after all. Sue me. :p

So will you actually be sitting close enough to the stage to have a reasonable chance of being set on fire? There might be some public safety laws about using flamethrowers that would prevent them from torching half the crowd (which they might try doing, if given the chance). :looney:

Other than that Feuertaufe is capitalized (all nouns are in German) that's correct. :P

Wait, what? German seriously capitalizes every single noun in the entire language? So a sentence with a whole bunch of nouns in it would have a whole bunch of capitlized words in the middle of the sentence? Silly Germans. :looney:

Yes. Not pronouns, mind, just regular old nouns and proper nouns. Incidentally, the word 'ich' (meaning 'I') is not capitalized like it is in English. But the word 'Sie' (a polite way of saying 'you' -- the plain way is 'du') is capitalized.

For example: Ich habe Lust auf ein heißes Schnitzel.

Lulz. As I said before, silly Germans. :p Also, I'm not quite sure how you'd translate heißes Schnitzel into English, but that sounds like a latke to me. I could use some of those right now. I'm hungry. :chew:

Heiß just means hot (the extra -es on the end tells the case and gender of the noun). Schnitzel is usually just called schnitzel in English. It's a fried, breaded boneless meat (usually pork). It is very yum and often served in a sandwich with sauerkraut and mustard.

Ah. When I looked up Heißes, I got something about a hot potato (like a metaphor), so I couldn't really tell what it was supposed to mean. I would have helped if I'd known the root word. :duh: So yeah, a schnitzel is less like a latke and more like a chicken katsu or a tonkatsu. Those are different, but also win.
