Halloween Candy

Post by Diabolique »

What are you hooked on right now?

For me, it'd have to be LifeSavers Gummies. Been having a really hard time staying away from them. :giggle: They are just SO good... :looney:

Nothing in particular for me... mainly been attacking snickers and hersheys with some reeses on the side  Gummies are evilly addictive, though... there's nothing to 'em, so ya can't help but keep munching them! :chew:

I never hand out my own Halloween candy (I always do my Candybot shtick at my parents' or somebody else's house, because there are no trick-or-treaters at my apartment complex), so I get to largely avoid the calories. :p Somebody from both Thursday classes this week brought in leftover candy, though, so I got some mini Crunch and Twix and stuff. Pretty much all the mini chocolate bars are still my favorites.

Nickel candy? That sounds like something from a hundred years ago, when everything was ridiculously cheap. :looney: Also, didn't know you played mahjong. That explains in part why you liked Saki.

Actually, in Nakors case, he started playing Mahjong BECAUSE Of Saki. :p

I've been lucky enough not to fall into any "candy traps" this year so far.

I guess my sweet tooth is "dormant" at the moment. :p

Actually, that's not half a geeky as the fact that I started studying Japanese in college solely because of anime. Three years of language study, including a quarter in Japan, all because I love anime, not to mention that watching it almost every day keeps my listening comprehension up. Now THAT'S geektacular. 8o :D The funny part is that like half the Ohio U. anime club was in Japanese 101 with me, but I was the only one that stuck it out all the way through the end of the program. Lazy wankers. :p

As for myself, I've had an assortment of the
mini-packages as well... mostly hershe-
ys, kit kat and almond joy. It's the
most candy I've had all year si-
nce I not into it much now,
though in my elementa-
ry years, candy was
an essential foo-
d group (laug-
hs). Norm-
ally, I'm
heav-
ily
into
Reces,
by I've ha-
d quite a bit
though out the
year and needed a
break from them (lau-
ghs). I've had 5 mini's an-
d felt as though I've drowne-
d at Willy Wonker's Chocolate F-
actory (laughs). No more for me an-
y time soon. Maybe tonight or tomorro-
w, but I've had more than my share for now.

I'm actually planning to major Asian Language & Culture (Japanese) and English (Literature). >.>

It keeps the door open to a BEd. like I mentioned before, or possibly a job in translating literature. Manga translator job get! (I wish. :P)

Also taking enough German credits for a minor, but they say they won't let me put three specs on my degree. <.<

LOL You'd basically be Assorted Languages Man if they'd let you. And yeah, while I'm sure I'd also love translating manga for a living, I'm not exactly counting on that job opening up any time soon. :p

Once I'm done with those two I fully intend on learning French at some point... it's just so important here. I don't know after that. Maybe Chinese. Somewhere along the line I just developed a fascination with languages. :P

Oh, I totally understand you on this. I both love languages and have a knack for learning them. I'm in a basic linguistics course right now that most people in the class appear to find confusing and possibly mind-numbing, but I find quite entertaining, in spite of the fact that it consists mostly of lecture. Now I know what a voiceless labiodental fricative is and how to read the IPA symbols for the English language sound bank, among other things.
