PHOENIX WRIGHT/PORTAL 2 SKETCH IS BRILLIANT (VIDEO)...

Post by soloist »

Sentient robot spheres and anime lawyers are like peanut butter and waffles; they're not the first two things you'd think to put together, but when you do, oh man. Hop past the break and spend a hilarious 25 seconds with this delightful Portal 2 / Phoenix Wright mash-up.

This would be so much more amusing and comprehensible to me if I'd actually ever played Portal or knew much of anything about it. :o

There is only one solution.

Play Portal, Spoony! Seriously, it's awesome.

I just know that the cake is a lie. That pretty much sums up the entire game right there. :p

The game (or at least the first, I haven't played the second) is really fun, you ought to give it a go. It's just one of those brilliant ones that's put together perfectly, just long enough, well voiced, and, frankly, just plain fun.

Portal 2 is simply not in my price range at the moment, but Portal was totally worth it. (I got it as part of the $20 Orange Box that included the HL2 games and Team Fortress, but even at $10 alone it's a great game.)

Oh, and thinking of that... Team Fortress is now free on Steam, if anyone's interested. I've never actually played it myself, though I've owned it for ages lol.

Isn't it basically a sort of weird first-person puzzle game? I suppose it might be worth getting if it's only ten bucks. I'll think about it next time I get bored and feel in particular like playing a video game instead of watching anime or something.

It is sort of I guess. I never really thought of it as that while playing I suppose. Unlike most puzzle games that have a plot just stuck on as an excuse (when they bother), Portal really does feel like an escape from a factory with an AI gone mad and bent on killing you (after luring you in with cake).

Also, it looks like Portal dropped to $6.69 for their summer sale for what it's worth. Portal 2 dropped by a third, which means it's still $33.49 (was $50).

Forgive my intrusion, but the information that
the cake is a lie is not really what can be
benefitted from; rather why the cak-
e is a lie. From gaining an underst-
anding of the why, the cake s-
entence makes much more
sense. This is why I pla-
n on playing Portal o-
nce I get my syste-
ms connected o-
nce again. I a-
m sure you
will app-
recia-
te
it mo-
re Frong a-
fter playing it.
What I find humo-
rous is that I've had t-
he Orange Box since it w-
as released and the only gam-
e I played on it was Team Fortre-
ss (which is addictive once you get u-
sed to it and find good people to play it
with). Tis a shame I cheated myself by not
getting into Portal and even the Half Life seri-
es (which I also never played). Nakor speaks the t-
ruth. Even without the story, gameplay is enticing an-
d the puzzles are said to get much more creative as the p-
layer advances. At the reduced price, it's well worth the cost
unless you haven't the time to really get involved in it. By the way:

(Valve is not paying to promote their game... laughs)

I bet they paid him in rhetorical cake. It's just like real cake, except that it doesn't exist, because they never bother to get beyond the point of asking if you'd like cake. So the cake isn't REALLY a lie... rhetorically speaking. :p
