Ok...I know it's early, but it's time for everyone to make their pick(s) for the World Series. Now, I'm not jumping on any bandwagon here(Been a Tigers fan all my life), but, I am picking 2 teams.
The rules are simple: Pick 1 team you think will, and one "darkhorse". A team you think could win it, and might upset someone else. In other words, a team that will surprise everyone and no one expected to go.
The two teams can be one from each or both from the same league.
That said, Here's my 2 teams:
Team to win WS: MY beloved Detroit Tigers (AL)-why? great young pitching, good mix of veterans and youngsters. Their Pitching staff will only get better throughout the season. Our hitters aren't scary, but they get the job done.
"Darkhorse": Cleveland Indians. Why? many of the same reasons I picked the Tigs. BUT, the Indians hitters are just nasty.
Now, keep in mind, you're only allowed to pick 2 teams total. if you'd like, you can give your reasons as to why you picked them. We'll see who comes closest or picks the team that wins.
Enjoy!

As long as it isn't the "Spankmees" I don't care who's in the WS!

It won't be the Yankees. Really. Even if they pass the Red Sox, someone's going to beat them.
It won't be anyone in the National League, though. The NL's good teams get kicked around by the f-wording Royals, for Pete's sake.
It won't be anyone in the AL West, either. There's just no one there who's that good.
It won't be anyone from Baltimore, Tampa Bay, or Kansas City. I am also uneasy about the Indians' chances or, for that matter, the Blue Jays' chances.
That leaves five teams, including a darkhorse, the Minnesota Twins. The Sports Reporters just pointed out that, in a series, the Twins are the best equipped to out-pitch any other team. The problem is, either the Twins have to stay really hot or the Tigers or White Sox have to choke. And the Twins still have to do better than whoever's in second in the AL East.
At this rate, the Tigers probably draw the AL West champ, which should be a walk for the Tigers. The White Sox and Red Sox draw each other again, and truthfully, whoever wins that series probably wins it all. I'll take the White Sox to repeat.

The four teams I see coming out of the National League are the Mets in the East, the Cardinals in the Central, the Dodgers in the West and the wild card will be the Reds. Out of that if the Cardinals can get their pitching straightened out they will win the National League if not then I will go with the Mets.
The American League I will go with Detroit to win it all they are just too damn tough.
