>Sony has confirmed that its PlayStation 3 console will use the Blu-Ray technology, allowing discs to hold fives times more than what is available in DVDs. <
><
>Blu-Ray discs can store up to 27 GB of information on a single layer, considerably higher than the 4.7 GB on DVDs. Sony plans to use a standard that holds 23 GB, still five times more than regular DVD discs. The larger capacity will allow for more high definition movies as well as bigger games. <
><
>As the name suggests, Blue-Ray uses a focused blue laser that allows for more information to be stored on a single layer than the standard red laser. Blu-Ray is backwards compatible with normal red-laser DVDs, and also shares the capability to read and write. <
><
>Blu-Ray electronic appliances are expected to be unveiled toward the end of the company's current fiscal year in March 2005. The PlayStation 3 is expected to be publicly unveiled around that time, almost certainly by the next E3 in May.<

I want a gaming console, not another computer. Me, I'm dishonest and you can always trust a dishonest person to be dishonest. Honestly! It's the honest ones you have to look after because you never know when they are going to do something incredibly...stupid.
