NO HIGH-DEF SUPPORT FOR REVOLUTION?

Post by soloist »

Nintendo's recent confirmation that its next-generation system, code-named Revolution, will not support high-definition has split the gaming populace in two. On one side sit those who support Nintendo's decision, while folks on the other side think it's a bad move on the part of the company. In response to the decision, a group of Nintendo fans has launched a website to see if they can garner enough support to change Nintendo's stance on the matter. <
><
>The site, titled 1080up.org, includes a series of sample letters written by fans, information on writing Nintendo and links to relative information on high-definition and Nintendo. There's also a timeline detailing some of Nintendo's history, as well as reactions from fans and various publications. There's even a link to the official 1080up store, where visitors can purchase shirts, mugs and other items. <
><
>Stay tuned, folks. <

I don't have one either, and I'm sure most people don't.<
><
>But when you consider that you usually have a system for about 5 years before a new model is released... it could eventually be relevant. Of course, it's not something that would affect whether or not I'd purchase the Revolution. <

HDTV support for the next-gen systems should be a must as the FCC will be phasing out all standard transmissions in 2006... even though HDTV saturation is nowhere near the 80% mark.<
><
>Even though I don't own an HDTV yet (they're still too expensive, IMO... even at outlet prices!), it should be something the gaming industry should look at. <

At 13", can one really tell the difference between HD and normal TV? <i>There are many rules of<

I agree. That doesn't seem like much of a difference there. <
