The entire concept of being required to give money or you go to hell is pretty whacked out, really. It's almost like saying that God cares more about money than good deeds or anything else. A really ridiculous idea, to say the least.

It's also practically extortion on the church's part...

It's called legalism and according to The Bible that in itsself is actually the sin. The book of Galations states clearly and repeatedly not to use these tactics in spirituality.
It is so sad that soooo many churches still pound people over the head with legalism. It is completely against the true teachings. I grew up in many, many churches whose policy was to "Give until it hurts!"
Luckily things are changing little by little and there are good churches out there.
Anyway..

Well said there Pinkguin88! Especially when recently I think there is one of the Hillsong churches now has EFTPOS machines in the church for the *donations* How ridiculous is that?!?!? Where does is go..........not to those who really need it that's for sure. It give those churches who are doing right and good a bad rep.
