Trying to Find Out

Post by BlueMolly2006 »

I don't know if anyone lives in Queens, NY or not, but I have a friend who lives in Flushing, Queens, and I'm trying to find out if he was effected by the power outage. I haven't heard from him in a few days (we communicate online and on the phone). I just didn't know if anyone knew anything.

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone from said area. I do know that Sir Soloist posted some pics of the flooding but he's in New Jersey though. :noclue:

We lost electricity for about two hours last night, but I'm not complaining. Others have had it much worse.
It was still weird though. Hot, Dark, and quiet. My hubby went and actually met and talked to the neighbors the whole time the electric was out. It's amazing the relationships formed when no computer is available.

I love it when the electric goes off, because that's when you meet your neighbors. Our building is on the same grid as the hosptial across the street so we rarely have power outages, but when we do it's earie. The last time the electric went out I was on the computer and half the building went off. Came to find out a transformer blew underground. I spent the night talking to one of the elderly women downstairs because she was scared of the dark and being alone.

Very true, although it sucks when your freezer has ice cream and other goodies in it!
