I have a cell that I keep on me for emergencies. Also my husband has one on the same plan. We can talk for free when he travels.

They were looking for phone booths with the receiver torn out, the dial smeared with unspeakable human excretions and the damn bloody machine refusing to take the coins, I guess.

Are you hanging around with teenagers? Because that's the same line of arguments they use to justify themselves when being accused as fashion victims... ;)

I have a pre-paid cell phone. I would like to get a monthly plan back someday though. I only use mine to check on my daughter during the week or in emergencies.

I have one. I used to hate them and was convinced I could get by without it; then I got one for Christmas and it's actually been useful. (Though it's only useful away from home; I could get by without it at home, since my land line has free long distance.) I also have T-Mobile and haven't even sniffed a roaming charge.

I've had a cellular phone for the past 11 years. I got it when I was in college and was traveling a lot between school and home (hour-and-a-half drive one way). Now, I need it for work purposes, and it's also great to have in case of an emergency. I don't really use it for social reasons. It has text capabilities which I have no idea how to use. At most, I've used it to send emails to my boyfriend when I've been away from home (and an internet connection) for a couple of days.
