There is one weatherman here I rely on, because most of the time he is pretty accurate. But for the most part I just look out of my window and if it's nasty out, I won't go out.

Nope! Only thing I rely on 100% is when I look out the window when I wake up... can't get more accurate than that

I do a much better forcast.I get up walk my lazy butt outside and take an uneducated guess. Why do we need a weatherman now, when you can go here. http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/
and see if rain or snow is coming.

Around here, it's fairly easy to predict the weather....

See Clouds, it'll rain
See Blue Sky, it's not gonna rain (for about an hour or two)

(Takes a look in the mirror)...hmm, I would say yes. ;)

Since we don't have local stations like in the US, the concept of a local weatherman is also unknown here. We do have statewide TV stations (it's fairly difficult to describe the German TV regulations in few words :D ), but all of them weathermen and -women are basically doing their job without any "outrageousnesses".

The weather people here are usually right about everything except for snow and ice. They almost NEVER get that right. If they predict it, I'll give them about a 10% chance of getting that right.

The local weathermen aren't as good as the ones on The Weather Channel for this area anyway. Especially when it comes to rain and temperature. Weather isn't something you can predict 100%. Pity really! :?

While the weathermen may differ on the temps, they're usually in the ballpark of each other & fairly accurate.

But I usually cross-reference stuff with online info to be sure.

Our weatherman is pretty accurate (and actually a small-scale local celeb really), but he does have the oddity of making up his own words for a few types of weather.
