How has a Computer or Internet helped you?
How has a Computer or Internet helped you?
Just thought I would ask how these 2 things have changed your life or helped make your life different.
I know I can't live without a computer or Inet now.It has given me a chance to meet people from all over, get new music I would never of gotten any other way, make DVDs of the kids, movies and photos, capture memories for them when they get older.
And it gave me this place to come and rant or just hang out! Can't ask for more then that.

You thought you'd get away, but Karma made its move
The bad things that you've done, will be coming back for you
It's really sad that we're at the end, but my heart won't let me feel

It's been a nice beacon for creativity... great for music storing, pictures and everything else imaginable
Gotten to experience a good bit and meet a lot of good people... and run into some none too good
And of course fate had Da Queen, my lady love and I fall into eachother which has been, and continues to be, the greatest enhancement to my life I've ever and could ever hope for

Ditto!
I feel very blessed to have made many wonderful online friendships over the past few years.
Can't be without my computer! I am a total nerd at heart!

Well this place is not like other public forums.Everyone here acts like an adult and not some 10 y/o out to cause trouble.

I've been using computers since before I can remember. I literally can't imagine what my perception of daily life would be today if I had grown up without them.
As for the intarweb, I've met some of the funniest and most awesome people I know online, and I really got into anime through fansubs (distributed on the internet). That, in turn, inspired me to learn Japanese, and led me to study in Japan, something which I guarantee you I never even would have imagined doing without computers or the internet around. It has, in large part, influenced who I am today.

Many of the same reasons already stated... Email is just sooo great as a way to stay more in touch with friends. As we go
are different ways, long distance doesn't seem quite as far...
The never ending road to upgrade... Good thing and $bad$ thing....
The need to tinker...Computers sorta fill that need...
Music! I was driving over the hill yesterday morning. Gorgeous morning, and a really beautiful song came over the radio
that I hadn't heard before. It was stuck in my head all day until I got home and found it on the net and downloaded it...

Maybe someday I'll do that if one of my future computers breaks beyond repair, although it wouldn't be half as interesting merely throwing it out onto my lawn. I'd much rather chuck the thing off a building and into a parking lot or something, assuming I could do so without getting in trouble.wavemeister wrote:Same here...guess that I can't live without the machine anymore for the given reasons, although sometimes, I would like to do the same a guy in our town did when he had thrown his PC out of the window on Saturday morning at 2 o'clock.

Well, the police which was called to the scene only "ordered" that guy to remove the remains of his PC from the pedwalk. Guess that he was punished enough.Frong wrote:Maybe someday I'll do that if one of my future computers breaks beyond repair, although it wouldn't be half as interesting merely throwing it out onto my lawn.
