How are you able to afford all of this? My work got cut big time because of the economy. I'm making like $300 a month now.

I paid my car off and live rent free with Mom (my name is going on the house when she has Dad's taken off.) We are paying the house off with his 401k, so that's will take a huge pressure off us. What's left from insurance (and if we win our case again a, Doctor full of ultimate phail, that pretty much killed my Dad,) Mom and I are going to be ok (even if we don't win.) We both will be debt free.

Keep your fingers crossed for us guys. Please.

$300 a month?!!   I can't even imagine how that can cover living unless living with others. My work is pretty secure and make decent money, so I can maintain a balance to enjoy and live while saving a chunk on the side. Though it comes at the sacrifice of the vast majority of my time.

Best of luck with that case, Masa! Hope ya win and all works out for the best! After all you've been through, you've more than earned a good turnaround.

Yeah that's all I'm making. After taxes I'm expecting to get about $270 this month. At least I only need to work 16 hours to get it. Before taxes I'm getting $20 per hour in a couple of work assignments.

I could get desperate and apply for a low wage retail McJob like I've done before. But I hate wasting my potential and abilities in jobs like that. Even the Barnes and Noble bookstore, a store that looks nice to customers, is just another low paying go nowhere McJob.

As for something better, forget it. I've spoken with other temporary workers in the same work assignments. In the more upscale parts of Orange County, CA it's still hard for people of diversity to get good jobs. Not to be racial back at the rich elite, but when you go into banks and car dealerships and hotels, the people with the high paying manager type of positions are tall white guys with preppy hairdo's and business suits. When you go into fast food restaurants, Walmarts, and anything else that's low paying, it's everyone else. It's still like that here. It's not really said out loud. But it's how things are and people still go along with it. The lucky go with it out of privilege and self preservation. The unlucky settle for what they get out of a more survival form of self preservation. But they aren't happy about it, that's for sure.

There are some people of an ethnicity other than Caucasian that look more wealthy wearing semi business clothing and selling cellphones in shopping malls. But they are not getting paid much either. We all have to settle for part time jobs and have to look for another before long because we can't count on them keeping us long. I have yet to meet one single Caucasian man who would be considered good looking who is having financial trouble.

A couple months ago I had some really good assignments showing people how to use a new ATM machine at Bank of America locations. There were teller staffs in each location with diversity. But they don't actually get paid as much as people may think they do. A little more than most McJob's but it's still part time and can't be counted on. No way can you support a family with that. And just about each branch gets rich customers who pass me by and walk directly to any staff member who's white. No joke about that. And people are talking all miserable about Obama being the president. Some day something really big is gonna happen in this area.

In the temporary work agency I work for, the two people who look for assignments for us are of an ethnicity other than white. And I think that's helped me a lot. It may sound like a double standard but I never saw them discriminate against white people. And this is survival and I still have the odds against me so I'll take whatever I can get. Also just about all the temp workers I've met are nonwhite anyways. I thought temp work was more upscale work but I guess it's something else people fall on when they can't get hired for something better. Anyways in the little temp work arena we have I actually have the favor over others for real reasons. I don't have a criminal record or drug problem like some of the others do. So within the agency I'm actually a top preference. But now it hardly matters because companies aren't really calling for temporary workers anymore.

It would be nice to prove myself in some work place with more pay. But then again, why should I have to work for twice the amount of time that others have to for rewards? Why should I have to watch my step and walk around twice as many egg shells? Some people waste up to a decade of their lives getting promoted or offered some opportunity that others get just by walking in the door. Some don't get anything at all.

Anyways I don't recall buying anything this week. But last week I bit the income bullet and got a real West African djembe drum. If I can't be rich, at least I can be culturally enriched.

I ordered a Baroness figure on Ebay. It's the 12" figure Hasbro is selling at the San Diego Comic Con to promote the GI Joe movie. I probably shouldn't have with my income that's in bad shape and just got a lot worse. But I did anyways.

I bought gallons of house paint today. The inside of the house smells like paint and tomorrow the outside will and I figure I will for quite awhile. :ill:
