You hadn't heard about it yet?

Nope, sorry. For some reason, I don't really spend much time on the Marvel YouTube channel. Or, for that matter, any time looking at anything involving Marvel.

I've seen both of these long before now. In all fairness, at least the Iron Man one looks like it could be halfway decent in its own right, as well as at least vaguely faithful to the source material (I think? Not that I've read it). The "Wolverine" one is just lulzy as hell and is essentially weird eye candy. If I do ever watch it, that'll be entirely why - for the lulz. :looney:

Yes, that is made of considerable amounts of win and awesome, plus a few extra bonus points of of win and awesome just for having the phrase "Darker Than Duck" in it. Honestly, the top tier of AMV creators are more creative than the bottom tier of actual anime creators. There's something wrong with that picture. :o

Moar Spring '10 information:

http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2010/03 ... 0-preview/

Actually this list seems to make the season look a fair bit more impressive. It turns out that B-gata H-kei may be closer to Doujin Work-style adult humour (without the ultra-ecchi art), while it's Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou that'll be (one of) the big ecchi series.

Notables with varying odds of being worth watching include:

Angel Beats!
Hakuouki
Romance of the Three Kingdoms
WORKING!!
Arakawa Under the Bridge
K-ON!!
Saraiya Goyou

The only guaranteed win in this upcoming season is season 2 of K-ON, obviously, but Working!!, Arakawa Under the Bridge and maybe Senkou no Night Raid look like they could be good, too. I already watched the early promo ep of Working!!, and it was amusing. Slice of life shows live and die by their casts of chars, and this one seems like it has a decently oddball set. I'll keep watching and see how it goes.

Revival!

With some odd news, though not totally surprising. FUNi has licenced Toaru Kagaku no Railgun... but not Toaru Majutsu no Index, its less successful predecessor.

Railgun is overall a better show than Index, yeah, but even it deviates from the source material (I think) after the first ten eps or so. The Railgun manga is actually better than the anime, IMO.

Blah... I've barely had any time for anime in the last three weeks, ever since grad school started. Simply had way too much homework to watch more than like two or three episodes per week. :dammit: Oh well, at least I'll have a couple weeks in August when I can catch up, before my in-school student teaching placements start.

It's good, it explains the sequence of events with all the Misaka clones that leads up to the fight with Accelerator in Index. The scanlations just got past the point where the two stories intersect. I'd recommend it, yeah.

Onemanga.com is removing all manga content from its site and will be leaving only the forums. You can read the full message on their homepage. MangaFox will still be up it seems.

Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap. :dammit: So the manga publishers have decided to go all dictatorial on us, huh? I can understand griping about the scanlating of licensed manga, but why are they forcing the removal of as-yet unlicensed manga, too? The anime distribution industry seems to work fine while tolerating the subbing of unlicensed shows. Maybe when they realize that pissing off their customer base is bad for sales, they'll pull the stick out of their arse. :o Well, whatever. I'm sure the scanlators will continue to do their thing regardless, the same way that fansubbers have flipped off publishers who try to make them stop subbing. I'll simply have to set up an account on Manga Updates to track when new chapters are out, get my manga through BT, and maybe join a forum to find out about good new series. Blah... what a pain. :\

The OneManga forum will still be around fwiw. I've never been there so I don't know if it's any good.

Neither have I, so I have no idea. I suppose I don't technically need any new series right now, though. I went through One Manga's entire list of series and added all the ones I follow to a new Baka Updates account - I ended up with 35 total. That's enough for now, even if half of them haven't updated in forever.
