FACEBOOK MALFUNCTION CAUSES FARMVILLE MADNESS...

Facebook was not working well yesterday. It was down for a lot of folks. That means FarmVille crops may have died. And that means some people were upset. Others were laughing.

Let's go to Twitter to survey the immediate reaction:

To this, I say... lawl. Just... lawl. Farmville addicts = phail, enough so that South Park has already made fun of them. Seriously, if you're gonna waste your time, at least try wasting it on something that has even the slightest shred of substance, people.

One reason why I don't play Farmville... Too demanding on your personal time, IMO.

I'll stick to Harvest Moon, which I can simply save and quit and leave for as long as I please before starting again. (Though honestly I can't remember the last time I even turned on a HM game.)

Harvest Moon has always been my foil for Farmville whenever I talk to anybody about it. Unlike Farmville, which involves clicking and more clicking and that's it, at least any given HM game has dialogue, minigames, an ultimate goal to the game (getting married lol ), and other actual substance. Plus you're not stuck wasting time on it every single day if you don't want to. Oh, and I can also refer people to the episode of South Park that makes fun of both Farmville and Tron at the same time. That episode is serious win.

I used to play Farmville, but it became less fun and more work. So, I said, "the Hell with this," and blocked the app. I don't play anymore Facebook games.

As others have noted, I play Harvest Moon... so I don't need Farmville.

The only Facebook game that I play on a moderately frequent basis is Bejeweled Blitz... mostly because it's Bejeweled in a bit-size form. I occasionally play Tetris on Facebook, but not that often... especially since they throttle gameplay on their battle (multiplayer vs) app.
