Moving Sucks

I officially hate moving, even though I am in a better place,I still hate it.
I worked all day at it and still not done. I did get what we needed moved so that we could stay here instead of at the apartment and had the internet on before we got in here.
My whole body seems to be hurting right now. I get a few days to recover because of work and then I have to finish it all by Monday and have keys turned in.

I really do like this house we are in. Has a patio with flood lights out there for the summer time and I can attempt to plant some flowers next spring as well. House is a bit small and had a hard time finding a place for the drums, but I managed. I still have to find a place for the kids computer to be put near mine so I can monitor their internet use. I decided it was time for some new furniture and bought a sectional today. It fit nicely in the corner but takes up lots of room.

I got to get the bird and turtles over here on Sunday. Was way to tired to move them tonight and my mom will take the kids over at the old place to take care of them over the weekend. Got the heat on so the bird stays warm.(starting to get freezing temps here)

Hopefully I survive this move and it will be 4-5 years before I have to move again.

Sorry to hear that you had such a long, tiring day, Shawn! It's never easy to move...but before long, you'll be all nice and comfy enjoying your new place! Congrats on the new furniture too! Are we gonna see pics of your new place/furniture? ;)
Get some rest. I am sure you'll feel a lot better tomorrow. Hang in there!

I whole heatedly agree that moving is a pain. Every time you move it seems like you just are swimming in a sea of boxes for days on end. Then there is the hassle of making sure the utility, internet, and cable companies get things right. (We all know how often they get things wrong too)

Good luck though. :)

The act of moving makes a good case for living a minimalist, zen lifestyle, eh? I personally try to own as few large possessions as possible, so that moving is less of a pain in the arse when I have no choice but to do it.

I haven't moved in many years, but I do remember discarding three chevy cheyanne pickup truckloads of "stuff" that I have no idea why we accumulated in the first place! That was the end of my packrat days... :bonk:

Hope you are getting it done and feeling better, Shawn! That patio sounds pretty inviting on a warm summer evening.

I got moved in Friday night with the help of my half drunk brother lol.
I've been in pain since. I put a call into the Dr to try and get in and see him. I haven't felt this bad in months.
I try not to have to many heavy things but with kids,it's kid of hard to avoid.

The electric company screwed up and did not transfer it into my name. Good thing I called. I got on budget billing so I know what to expect to pay every month.
