Pet Fears: Does your pet have one?

Post by Ingrid »

Is there anything your pet is afraid of? Something that makes them totally freak out?<
><
>Mine used to get scared of the bubbles formed inside his water bottle. Then he got used to them but at first he would really get freaked by them.<

Well... Sparky freaks out if I point my finger at him... But that's not a fear, 'specially when he chews on my finger... And he attacks shadows and spots of light too...<
><
>He is scared of the washroom though! He knows that's where he gets baths! <
><
>Sparky's a Dashound/Collie cross, but he's 95% dashound.<

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! Chasing shadows is more of a cat pastime! That's funny! And yeah....they know when you are about to give them a bath...so they form associations such as "never-get-near-sink or bathtub"-type thing.

Mine's afraid of children...and it's not funny. He can get very aggresive becasue of it. :( But oh well, I don't blame him, I live here with the most annoying kidfs in the world that run after him and pinch him. <
><
>The other was afraid of a fly. He ran off for it..:) ANd my one cat LOVES shadows, he chases them....Oh and Pepijn, he also gets really freaked out when he has gas. :P <

Yeah, he acts alot like a cat. 'Cept that he's possessive about his stuffies and his tennis balls. There are many paths through life<

Puff used to be scared to death of this deer head we have in our living room...one of us would lift her up to it and she would hiss and scream, and then she would squirm away. She got used to it, though.<
><
>Ozzie used to be afraid of just about everything. She hated the dogs, and she wouldn't go near the doors. She was startled by any fast movement at all and hated company. She wouldn't let anyone pick her up, and the minute anyone did, she would dart away the first chance she got. <
>O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose
oad stripes and
ight stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the
ave?<

My cat is afraid of a lot of things. I got her when she was already 2 years old so I don't really know what happened to her in the past... The slightest unusual noise makes her bounce almost to the ceiling and when people come to visit her, she hides away <
><
>But what she really hates is the vaccum cleaner. Not only does she dislike the terrible noise it makes but she really thinks it's a sort of monster.<
><
>When we use it, we always try to put her in another room meanwhile. Last time, when everything was over, I put the vaccum cleaner away in the closet and went to fetch her. She was in the kitchen and I just wanted to put her back in her basket in the living-room. She must have thought that I wanted to take her to the "monster" because she started to scream and tried to escape. She was terrorized.

Well, I bought her at a
eeder's so the latter was the only previous owner before me. This lady was a very nice person. However, I remember meeting her son once or twice and he really didn't seem to appreciate the cats his mother
ed.<
><
>I even remember that the second time we called on her to buy the cat, he appeared in the room and the lady almost seemed terrorized when she saw him.<
><
>She was in a delicate situation as she was divorcing. She was already separated from her husband but her son still lived with her. He really had a mean look. My husband and I always wondered if he ever had been mean with the cats his mother
ed...<
><
> Anyway, I'm sure something happened as she is afraid of everything. And we noticed that she is mostly afraid of men. It took her a long time to get used to my husband. And she is still a bit afraid of my father while my mother can grab her without any problem.

Hmmmm...it makes sense. Sounds like he could have had something to do with it. <
><

><
>she also doesn't like it when i used to leave my Scream mask around during Halloween. she'd always bark at it and make like she was gonna attack it or something, by pouncing on it and the retreating to a safe distance right away. (the doctor is in the HIZouse)
