The RIAA and MPAA business models have been rendered obsolete by the internet and now it's the NAB's turn to face the reality of technology.

It's not the "Big 4" have anything worth watching. After what Fox did to Alcatraz, I decided that was it. I quit NBC after they hosed Heroes. I quit ABC once Lost was done. I haven't watched CBS in 20 years.

YouTube will probably STILL remain free for user-generated content, but they may go HuluPlus for premium content. They certainly have the userbase for it. If they could get even 5% to pay for premium services, it might be enough bring in premium channel providers like HBO to make content available.

After cancelling the reason for visiting such networks,
I can see why you left them. I'd do the same, esp-
ecially if I found another location where I co-
uld view them alternatively. I can see Yo-
utube heading into "Premium Conten-
t" territory, just as I seen Microso-
ft heading into the TV market
with its next gaming syste-
m. The Xbox 360 was j-
ust the test and the-
ir TV-based inves-
tments confir-
med this.

I
gues-
s you'll be
investing in a f-
ew Xbox One's, huh?

I'm not bothering with either on them.
I'm planning on dropping DirecTV and streaming everything with an upgraded internet. I can get HuluPlus through my Blu-ray player and I just got a Roku 2XS box. I'll just torrent the rest.

Since I've cut the cable, I've pretty much be streaming shows from Netflix w/ the Roku 2 XS box that's connected to the TV... as well my 3DS from time to time (generally at bedtime).

I've seriously considered picking up Hulu+... but just haven't justified the subscription to view a few shows.

If they manage to get Game Center CX added to their listing (as I know that show is trying to find a North American VOD service to taken them)... I'd jump aboard.

I'm seriously considering Roku 2 because Comcast
is way out of control. My family is too used
to them which is why we still have the
service. If anything, we should ke-
ep them ONLY for their online
services since we never h-
ad a problem regardi-
ng internet ace-
ss and spee-
d. After
dro-
pping p-
remium cha-
nnels and rates
are still high? Yep, I-
t's time for a change I sa-
y. Congratulations on cutting
the cable, TStodden! I don't hav-
e a subscription to Netflix yet or Hul-
u... but I soon hope to since I have nume-
rous devices that support both. This way, I'm
not tethered to a specific location for viewing sh-
ows. That's a good idea, Kenseiden. I keep forgetting
that Blu-ray players support Hulu & Netflix. Time to upgrade.

(thanks for the info and ideas...)
