I was going through Kickstarter when I stumbled upon this cool little Kickstarter project called the gStick.

It's a mouse / trackball in form of a pen / marker, which could be a practical alternative to WACOM tablets. You pretty much just hold the gStick like a pen (or a Sharpie marker, based on it's size) & use in a similar fashion. Mouse buttons are placed where your fingers are located to make it feel natural. It'll run on 1 AAA battery (for about 3 months or so, depending on usage) & include it's own USB dongle to you can connect it to any computer you like.

It seems like a cool item & might be worth checking. If it seems like something you're interested in, visit the Kickstarter page above & make a pledge towards the project.

The gStick is planning to retail for ~$80, but you can get one for $35 in Black OR $37 in a desired color (assuming they get 100 backers for it). If you think it's a great idea, get in while it's cheap! :D

A cool item indeed! Thanks for the
link, TStodden! I can see the p-
ractical applications wher-
e this item could prov-
e quite useful, and
that based on m-
y everyday a-
ntics. This
I'd sup-
por-
t.

Sad to state that this project failed it's target... but the maker is trying again with a lower funding target as the manufacturer is lowering their minimum order.

I'm not certain if I'll back up the retry or not.

Understandable, TStodden. It's a shame when a device
that has potential to be something more fails to g-
et the support that it needs. I wonder what a-
djustments will have to be made in order
to get it within the newly targeted fu-
nding bracket and if it'll even be
worth pursuing as a result. A-
t this point, I guess only t-
ime will tell if this pro-
ject will prove itsel-
f to be of substa-
ntial value or
not. In oth-
er words:
We sh-
all s-
ee.

(thanks again for posting the original information, TStodden...)

I'm glad that the gStick Mouse reached
it's Kickstarter goal! Congratulati-
ons to all who helped to mak-
e it possible. Persistence
over comes resistanc-

Have you got-
ten one a-

I got in on the retry... but it'll take time for them to get made & shipped out, so it'll be a few months.

However, all the Kickstarter projects I've backed have delivered their perks so far...

What's still pending are...

* Shadowgate (PC)
* Code Monkey Saves World (Comic)
* Pinball Arcade: Terminator 2 (PC / Steam)

I hope you get it soon, TStodden... rather, sooner
than expected if possible. Do you have any i-
dea what the perks for this particular d-
evice will be or will you discover t-
hem after you receive this mo-
use? I do hope that you re-
ceive these items bef-
ore the holiday. T-
hat'll be a nic-
e surprise
I'd thi-
nk.

I'm
still w-

the Code Monkey C-
