This post is for all of those people who think VHS is equally as good as DVD. First of all, DVD has MUCH better picture quality. It is crystal clear, take my word for it. No tracking button needed, just put in a movie and watch with perfect visuals. Secondly, DVD's sound is INCREDIBLE. If you have a decent receiver, a decent set of speakers, and a good subwoofer attached, you'll have supreme sound. Try watching the Matrix on DTS with the above attachments. When he dodges the bullets you can hear them fly by you. Trust me, I've tested it out and it rocked ass. Third of all, DVD disks are much more convinient(spelling) than VHS tapes storage wise. If you're traveling somewhere, trying to squeeze in as many things as you can to go somewhere, or simply storing movies in a closet, DVD disks are much smaller so you can store more videos. Also, there isn't just DVD Video. There is DVD Audio which not many people know about. They have DVD Audio Disk players which play DVD Music. It will be replacing CDs not far off from now. The DVD Audio Players are just like CD players--they play CD's also. But they're mainly for DVD music disks. The sound is so much clearer and can fit more tracks on to one disk. Wow NeoKnight! That was a really complete and excellent explanation about the differences! It's surely nice not having to use a button to adjust the tracking...that's a great plus. Just curious about something... What happens when a DVD gets scratched??? <i>~Ingrid~</i><i><i></i>

Well, it depends on the scratch. If it's not much, it does nothing. If it's sort of a huge scratch and really noticible, it will probably skip or something. I don't know, I haven't had it happen to me. But I'm pretty sure my prediction is right. "Doc, I'm blind, what do ya got for me?"
