My VCR's have the 2nd audio feature and out of the whole cable selection maybe I find one or two stations that are actually "
oadcasting" in Second Audio. The rest of the stations display that they are
oadcasting in 2nd audio when in reality they're not! Sounds to me like it's almost a wasted feature if the stations don't care about
oadcasting in 2nd audio! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <i>~Ingrid~</i><i><i></i>
I guess it just hasn't caught on with some stations. <b><i>"But what fun is destruction if no 'precious' lives are lost?" - Kefka</i></b><

Most dont do it because<

>1. they re lazy<
><
>2. too busy with other programing<

>Not really that they havent caught on to it. Just most of the audience would rather listen to it in English.<

Like just about anything else in the world of technology, the inventors crank out new ideas faster than companies can afford to implement it. There is additional equipment that needs to be installed in order to do the type of
oadcasts that you refer to. Some replaces existing equipment.<
>Let's take your computer for example. You buy the newest, bestest machine out there and then (2 months later) out comes a newer better machine. You can't afford to junk your computer just because there is something newer out there. Now you have someone that is using your computer and has the newest software that exists and can't run it on your computer. You are both frustrated.<
><
>In many cases, this is what happens to companies. In time, the TV stations will either implement the new technology or fade away... or a new technology willl come along. <

No.<
> That is soooooo incorrect.<
> SAP (Secondary Audio Program) has been around for around 10 - 15 years! The reason it isnt very much implemented, is because programmers are far too busy with their more important programming. Unfortunatly in this country, English comes first. When more are to be hired at these Television Networks, we will see more SAP programming. <i>Edited by Homicide187 at: 4/10/00 7:43:05 pm<

In some places that is probably true. In other places, it is a cost issue. Somebody has still got to pay for the ability to run the SAP. True, it has been around for awhile but when you are talking about some big costs, it takes time.<

>Understand that I live in a rural area. Here we are used to being the last to get stuff. In some cases, it is not unusual to wait 10 years for a new service to show up. In more metropolitan areas, perhaps it is different.<

Ok.<
>I catch ur drift.<
>Sorry.<
>U made it sound like a
and new technolgy waiting to be picked up. When in fact it just isnt very popular or very afforable. <i></i>
No offense taken. Good healthy debate is just what this forum needs. We will have to do it again. What other topics can we talk about :-)<
