This months Consumer Reports has a news
ief about a Panasonic prototype for a wristwatch that plays MP3. Panasonic says that the watch will be able to store more MP3 than current players due to larger storage devices. The price is expected to be around $150. CR reports that there are some drawbacks though. Sound quality is not up to CD standards and downloading the music is a bit complicated and slow. It also uses SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) Standard that prevents copying. It is not known how soon or affordably major record companies will make SMDI available.
