PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
...are already in developement! But you might be asking, "Hey, how can that be if no one has developement kits?" Well, a few developers are working on high-end PC workstations that are probably similar in processing power to both next-generation systems - they'll adapt the titles to the dev kits when they get them.<

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
Sony has decided to withhold the launching of the PS3 (originally slated for 2006) indefinatly because they feel that the PS2 has not yet reached it's maximum capability.<

Consoles are usually sold without any profit. But the starting prices will still be pretty high though.<

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
It looks like there won't be a battle. Or rather, not any time soon anyway. Nintendo announced themselves that there was no need to release a new console since the Gamecube is more than powerful enough to handle whatever's necessary. After they took the first step, Sony must have felt less pressure on their system, and announced the same delay. No word from XBox, but they never established an XBox 2 approx. release time to my knowledge anyway, and if they're wise, that will be delayed as well.<

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
The only reason Sony and Microsoft can afford to sell consoles below the cost of manufacture is because they make obscene profits off of everything else they produce, so it balances out. Nintendo doesn't pack their consoles with unnecessary capabilities, like playing DVD movies, so theirs are cheaper, but not below cost. Besides, the next Nintendo and Sony consoles will be sold in Japan first. After 1-2 million units have sold, the price will fall enough to
ing them over here. The PS1 sold 6 million units in Japan before ever setting foot over here in 1995. In the end, there can be only ONE!For true Dragonball fans, click the banner.(\__/)(=';'=)(")_(")Pat the Bunny!Only the

>The DVD player in the PS2 is an unessicary addition? Man... I see Nintendo Fanboyism right there... Considering that the PS2 was designed to use DVD discs there was no need for an "DVD Addition." The X-Box had a DVD addition, which is why the X-Box requires the remote to use the DVD player function.<
><
>But then again, I have to think. Even if the PS2 had the DVD added intentionally, what am I gonna do. I can buy a system that has no function aside from games (*cough*Gamecube*cough*), which in itself isn't a bad thing either, BUT I could also get a system that cannot JUST play games, but can also play my music CDs, and my DVDs. Hmmm... <

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
The main function of a console is to play games. If you look at it that way a dvd player is unnecissary. But it is a cool addition though. Most of the time I use the ps2 as a dvd player instead of a console. <
><
>Although a dvd player costs more. Nintendo had to develop the 1,5 gig disc while the dvd's were already invented. I might be wrong on this though. The discs may have already excist before Nintendo started to make use of them. The main advantage of using those discs: less illegal copying, thus more income for Nintendo. And the console is a lot smaller too. <

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
Yup. Until this past Christmas when my parents bought me a DVD player, I used the PS2 to play all my DVDs. And a good chunk of my CDs. So even if it's not "nessicary" I'm sure as hell not going to complain about it. <

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
Those discs Nintendo uses are very similar to DVDs. In fact, they are DVD discs, but smaller, and use a better type of compression, to keep the high file size on a small disc, and reduce loading times.<

Re: PS3 AND XBOX 2 GAMES...
But they still can't play DVDs. So it's like having a full sized apple and getting all the good stuff, with the extra added fact that they're bigger, or getting a mini apple and still have the apple, just with not so much... bigness... and stuff....<
