Everyone has done at least one good deed today or at least in the last week!

Something that made you feel that you made a difference in someone's life.

Last Tuesday I was on the way home from work riding on our light rail sytem (Metro Link) and it was crowded with people heading to Busch Stadium for a ball game that night. So many had to stand up for their ride to the game. I had a seat because I got a stop or two before a majority of the people got on. A few stops later a man and a woman got on holding their baby and had no place to sit. I was sitting towards the middle of the car and they were in the front. I saw that they were having a hard time standing with the baby. I got the woman's attention and asked her if she would like my seat. She exhaustedly said yes. She had to get around the mass of people but managed to do so and sat down as soon as I got up so that noone decides to be a smart ass and take the seat! She looked up at me and said "Thank you that is the most thoughtful has done for us in a long time, there is a place in heaven for people like you." I said "I just hope someone returns the favor someday! I have been where you were 3 times so I understnad what you were going through."
I was getting off the train and her husband stuck out his hand to shake mine and said "Thank you we have been on our feet for hours and that is what we needed."

Awww, Kev That was so sweet of you Not a lot of people are as thoughful nowadays. I havent really been out of the house much this week to do any good deeds but will keep this in mind for next week

Well done, Kevin. I know how crowded public transportation can be at times, and coming onto a railway with anything in hand, let alone a baby, has to be tricky.

OK, now for my good deed from yesterday. It was an all-day thing. Val needed some help moving out of her college apartment and setting things up at our place. I should add a few things - she has some trouble lifting, she also has trouble with cords for her computer (which she really doesn't have the first idea how to set up,) and if that didn't make things hard enough, she has a stress-related heart condition, and too much heavy lifting or anything like it causes her heart to act wonky.

With that in mind, she and her mom did the packing, and I did the lifting, loading, and unloading. I also set up her computer in our spare bedroom, which is now her office for some reason.

Sir Zoid - Glad to hear that you are done moving everything. Hope Val is doing OK too.


As far as deeds, not much to report here, unless cleaning up after my dog's 'accidents' count.
